So you’ve decided to take part in our Spring High Water Special. We want to make sure you feel comfortable in and out of the raft !
Just like any cold weathered sport, what is next to your core will provide you the most warmth and comfort. Key fabrics include any fast drying synthetic fabric, such as fleece, neoprene and nylon. Do not layer with cotton. Cotton is water loving and will keep cold water trapped in the garment. Nylon and fleece, on the other hand are quick to disperse the water away from your body – keeping you dry and warm.
At OWL Rafting we provide you a neoprene wetsuit and jacket if the water temperature is below 15 degrees Celsius. As the river warms up, we make them available to rent. Remember you still need to layer! Many Outdoor retailers will carry synthetic layering, or you can visit our gift shop, loaded with functional and fashionable synthetic keepsakes for the whole family. Hot Fuzz Fleece Top and Mercury Long Sleeve Rash Top from Level Six and Columbia Midweight Baselayer are a few layering pieces we carry at the OWL Retail Store.
