Things to Know Paddling Articles Race Results Local Attractions

We've put together this short check-list of things to bring and suggestions - just to speed you on your way and make sure you come prepared. Please look these over before you set out and we'll see you when you get here.
 
   Recommended Gear. . .

  Paddling:


What to Wear?

  bathing suit
  wool or fleece sweater
  wetsuit (can be rented)
  boating shoes* (or light running shoes)
  paddling jacket* (or light windbreaker)
  lycra tights or shorts
  wool socks
  polypropylene* long-sleeve top
  (a synthetic fibre that is warm even
    when wet)
 

General:

  change of clothes
  towel
  insect repellent*
  camera
  toiletries
  sunscreen*
  flashlight

   Check-In/Out Times. . .
     
  Course: Check in: Check Out:
  Weekend courses: Friday between 7 & 10 pm** Sunday at 4 pm
  5-Day week courses:  Sunday between 7 & 10 pm** Friday at 7 pm
    ** If you arrive after 10 pm, a note will be left outside the office door regarding your
    room number or campsite.
        Staying an additional night with breakfast can be arranged upon arrival (space
    dependant).

  Hot showers and a modern washhouse
  Beer fridge -- to keep the après paddling beverage cool
  Bark Lake -- mid-week in the 5-day course we enjoy an outdoor BBQ on remote Bark Lake, a chance to try windsurfing, exchange boat types for trial, practice rolling or relax in the sun.
