The 5-
Advanced paddling groups will make day trips to one of many other rivers or sections nearby. The Middle or Main Channels of the Ottawa, Petawawa, Palmer Rapids, Lower Madawaska, Upper Madawaska, Opeongo, are all popular local runs.
Wednesday afternoons we head over to our beautiful Bark Lake Beach. It is a casual diversion from class, where you can test drive different boats, practice your roll, toss a Frisbee, or just relax. We serve dinner from our outdoor grill.
On the last day we all head out to test our newly acquired skills on another river.
Start the day with a stroll through the woods, a warm-
Breakfast is served at 8:00 and at 9:00 we head to the river. Paddle until noon to return for a buffet lunch. Instruction resumes until around 4 pm, when the our shuttle vans return you to the centre. Unwind and share river stories over juice, coffee and a freshly baked snack. The Log Sauna is hot to stretch tired muscles.
Dinner at 6pm, followed by an additional dry land session, or, an instructional film to compliment the days learning. Someone usually starts strumming a guitar by the fire until it is time for bed.
